Daily Puzzle Mode Explained
The daily puzzle is a short Connect 4 challenge that changes once per day. Everyone who opens the game on the same date gets the same starting position, because the board is generated from a fixed date-based seed rather than a random draw.
How the puzzle is built
- The date is converted into a deterministic seed.
- A controlled random generator replays a fixed opening sequence from that seed.
- The resulting position is the puzzle: your colour and the side to move are fixed.
Refreshing the page does not reroll the puzzle. Two players on the same day face the same challenge.
How to play it
- Open the lobby and choose Daily puzzle.
- You receive the puzzle position and take your side.
- Play until the game ends against the standard AI.
- Win, lose or draw — the result is recorded locally on your device.
Completion and streaks
A solved puzzle is marked in local storage for that date. No account is required and nothing is uploaded. Clearing browser data resets the marks.
