Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-29 · Published by PureTable · contact@puretablegames.com

This policy explains what the free Connect 4 game at connect4.puretablegames.com (the “Site”), published by PureTable, does and does not do with information. In short: there are no accounts, no ads and no tracking cookies, and the Site does not currently use analytics.

1. What stays on your device

To remember your game, the Site stores a few items in your browser’s local storage. They are never uploaded to us.

KeyWhat it holds
ptg_four_active_soloYour unfinished solo game (a random seed plus the list of columns played), so a refresh restores it.
ptg_four_paused_soloA solo game saved while you play a friend match, so you can resume it afterwards.
ptg_four_statsYour win / loss / draw record, streak, a local rating and your last chosen mode.
dirk8.history.v1The last 50 finished games (time, opponent label, result, number of moves).
dirk8.lang, dirk8.sfx.muted.v1Your language and sound-off preferences.
dirk8.v1.four.*Small flags such as “daily puzzle solved today”, and older copies of the items above kept for one release cycle.

You can delete all of it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. If your browser blocks local storage, the game still works but forgets your progress when you close the tab.

2. Playing with friends

Solo games run entirely in your browser. When you create or join a private room, your browser connects to our game server (ws.connect4.puretablegames.com) over a WebSocket. For that to work the server processes: the room code, the temporary nickname you type or the default one we generate (for example Player_402), and the moves and emoji reactions that are relayed to the other person in the room. This lives only in server memory: a room is removed when its host leaves, or a few minutes after the host disconnects. For a short time the server may keep the move list and random seed of a finished friend match (without any nickname or other identity) so that it can be replayed; it is not written to a database. There is no text chat.

3. Technical data and error reports

Like any website, our hosting and content-delivery providers (such as Cloudflare) receive your IP address and request details when your browser loads the Site, to deliver it and to defend against abuse. We do not use this to identify you. If a script error occurs in your browser, the Site may send a short report (the page address, your browser’s user-agent string and the error message; at most five per page view) to our own server so we can fix bugs. We do not add cookies ourselves; our hosting provider may set strictly necessary security cookies.

4. Analytics and advertising

The Site does not use advertising, ad networks, or third-party analytics. If we add privacy-friendly anonymous usage statistics in the future, we will update this page first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before collecting anything.

5. Children

The Site is a general-audience game and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

6. Your choices

Because we hold no account data, there is nothing to log in to or delete on our side. To remove what is stored on your device, clear this site’s data in your browser. For any privacy question, write to contact@puretablegames.com.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
